Creating Your Artist Profile
Your profile is the first thing a client sees before placing a commission. A complete, well-written profile builds trust and sets clear expectations — both of which reduce friction and increase conversions.

Before you begin
Make sure you have:
- A verified IVY account (how to create one)
- A profile photo (minimum 400×400 px, PNG or JPG)
- A short bio ready (50–300 words works best)
Step 1 — Open Profile Settings
- Click your avatar in the top-right corner.
- Select Profile Settings from the dropdown.
- You will land on the Edit Profile page.

Step 2 — Upload your avatar and banner
| Field | Recommended size | Max file size |
|---|---|---|
| Avatar | 400×400 px | 2 MB |
| Banner | 1500×500 px | 5 MB |
Tip: Use a banner that shows a sample of your art style. Clients decide within seconds whether to scroll further.
Step 3 — Fill in your display name and username
- Display name — shown prominently on your profile. Can include spaces and special characters. This can be changed at any time.
- Username — used in your public URL (
ivy.art/@yourname). Choose carefully; changing it breaks existing links.
Step 4 — Write your bio
Your bio should cover three things:
- What you draw — character art, landscapes, portraits, pixel art, etc.
- Your style — realistic, semi-realistic, chibi, painterly, line-art only, etc.
- What clients can expect — turnaround times, communication style, revision policy.

Example bio:
Hi, I'm Mia — a digital illustrator specialising in character portraits and fantasy scenes. I work in a semi-realistic painted style and typically deliver in 7–14 days. I love working from detailed briefs and offer two rounds of revisions on every piece.
Step 5 — Add your social links
Linking external platforms (Twitter/X, Instagram, ArtStation, Behance) helps clients verify your identity and see more of your work. These appear as icon buttons below your bio.
Step 6 — Set your commission status
Toggle your commission status to Open or Closed from the Commissions tab in Profile Settings. When closed, clients can still browse your portfolio but the "Request Commission" button is hidden.
See Commission Workflow for more details on managing incoming requests.
Step 7 — Preview and publish
Click Preview to see exactly what clients see. When you are satisfied, click Save Changes. Your profile is live immediately.

Frequently asked questions
Can I have multiple profiles? No. Each IVY account has one artist profile. If you work under multiple aliases, you can list them in your bio.
How do I change my username? Go to Profile Settings → Account and update the Username field. Note that your old URL will no longer work.
Will clients be notified when I open commissions? Clients who have saved your profile will receive an optional notification when you switch from Closed to Open. You can control this in Settings → Notifications.
